Burning folder/file to DVD

Hello

When I create an MP4 movie file in Premier Elements 11 for viewing on a computer and TV DVD Player, Premier Elements also creates a Layout Folder, a .prel file, a log file, an Encoded Files folder, and an Adobe Premier Elements Preview Files folder - all inside the folder that holds the MP4 movie.

When I burn the MP4 file to DVD using software such as ImgBurn, do I select the whole folder, with these related folders and files inside it, or only the MP4 file itself?

Thanks!

If you plan to produce a playable DVD, you shouldn't be outputting an MP4. You should be using Publish & Share/Disc/DVD to output your DVD.

Burning and MP4 to a DVD disc will not produce it DVD. It will produce a disc with an MP4 on it -- which your DVD player will probably not be able to play.

yep. That's exactly how it's designed to work.

Hi, I saw this post and I have a question for you.  I am using Prem. Elements on a Mac.  I have versions 2019 and 2021.  Adobe has removed the option on these versions to be be able to Publish & Share/Disc/DVD, and the option to create Chapters/Menus.  (which is terribly disappointing).  I can burn the mp4 to a disc and it does play on my dvd player but I would like to have the other options again.  Do you happen to know if these options have been put back in the 2022 Version?  Thanks in advance for your advice.

Go to the Adobe page and look at what is supported http://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html

    Many thanks for that, Steve

I am not ready to burn it just right now, so I have not selected Publish & Share/Disc/DVD but chosen instead Publish & Share/Disc/DVD/DVD Folder 4.7Gb on my desktop.

I take it that I can then browse to that folder in image burning software at a later stage and it should be playable on a TV DVD player?

    Thanks for your help.
