Question

Can Adobe Premiere Elements support transparent video files?

Hey guys, super quick question... I'm trying to add a transparent explosion to my clip here. I got a few from Envato Elements and they say they have a transparent background.

They're in mov format, so I used Handbrake to convert them to an mp4. When I add them in though, it's just a total black screen with the explosion on it, so it covers the entire screen.

Am I doing it wrong, or is Premiere Elements not able to handle these?

Thanks!!

Yes Elements supports transparency.

When converting to mp4 you lose the transparency.

Post screenshot of the clip in MediaInfo in treeview here on the forum.

Post link to clip in Envato.

If the clip is Prores or Cineform Elements does not support this format,

The only format that works is Quicktime with Animation codec.

Ok let's see if I got everything. This one here is an example. There are about 15 of them I'd like to use, but this was the first one I tried...

The file does not have an alpha channel. Guessing it comes with a matte file or not?

Did you get one or two files?

If two you use this as a track matte.

Post the Media info.
