Can I open an incomplete project from PE 2019 with my later version PE2022

I have several projects still open in a earlier version of Premier Elements, PE2019. I could probably complete them there, but I wondered if I could import them into my latest version PE2022 and finsih them there?

Make a copy of the 2019 project file and then try to open the copy in 2022.

Then you will know.

I agree with Bob. It might work -- or it might give you funny results or effects that don't work right. Premiere Elements has never been very good at being backwards compatible.

 

The reason you want to make a copy before you try is because doing so can also completely corrupt your project file, so you want to make sure you have a backup.

 

Of just take the advice I give in my books: Always finish a project in the same version of the program you started it in. It's the safest way to work.

I agree, and obviously its not that difficult. Just began to wonder if it was possible. I dont think it is in the long run. Thank you for responding.
