Hi,

I put some text in my video. I'm wondering how different animations will work. For example AngularFadeOut or FadeInByLine. It's under the adjustment section.

But... this don't work in my Premiere. I simply can't hit the 'Apply' button.

Correct answer Steve Grisetti

Have you ensure that your text or text block is selected in Title Adjustments and have you removed the current animation, if it is applied?

1.      Ensure that your text or the block of text is selected in the Title Adjustments workspace.

2.     If an animation is already applied, click the Remove button the remove the current animation.

3.     Select an animation and click the Apply button.

Hi! I had the same problem, but I figured out how to solve it. You need to zoom in quite a bit on the text layer (in the timeline) and drag the effect right to the bottom edge of that layer until the 'add effect' symbol appears. If you don't do it like this, you'll see the 'cannot add' symbol instead. So try hovering over the layer carefully until it shows up.

I had this problem too, and figured it out after much frustration. So here it is: You can only animate a text block that has one line of text. So, If I want two lines of text animated such as (see below) --

It has to be two completely separate blocks of text, not one block of text with a hard or soft return to create the new line.  I hope this helps.

Thank you... you have posted the best answer. Premier is not very friendly, you need to spend hours learning it.

I am also having trouble adding animation to my text. I have highlighted the text, select the animation tab, select my choice, but cannot apply it. I see the two buttons apply and remove, but they do not work when I click on them. The other categories such as text, style and shapes function but not the animation section.

I have Premiere Elements 12

I have tried this in both the quick and guided sections.

Sincerely,

Megan
