Cannot Open Video Editor in PSE 14

My software was working on my machine for about 6 months and recently stopped working.  I am able to get to the welcome screen but after I click the Video Editor

I get a windows error saying "Adobe Primiere  Elements has stopped working."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it without any success. I have tried updating my video driver (per Adobe suggestion) but also nothing.

    People here would like to help but you've offered no detail about your computer or clip files. 

    One extreme guess is your security software.  Months ago there were reports that software from a company called Lavasoft was causing trouble.  I think it was called Web Companion.

    I haven't installed anything to my machine for months.  (Minus things like Windows Updates) I am running a Windows 10.  What details about clip files do I need to provide?  I I do not understand.

    Premier Elements 14 is about 18 months old.  Since that time you may have had automatic updates to both Windows and graphics drivers.   The clip details are about codecs, frame rates, etc and can be found with a shareware program called Mediainfo.   What is the source of the video clips.  Knowing more about you computer other than it runs Windows 10 would help.
