A .avi clip plays on clip monitor but I cannot insert on timeline - what to do?

    Thanks. I solved it by running easyfx in Premiere 19 on Windows 10 which ended up splitting all the scenes to the assets bin. I then knit all the scenes together on the timeline. Time consuming but worked. It was a weird problem because I had far more corrupted clips in assets which would insert into the timeline.

    .avi like .mp4, .mov, etc is a "container" of codecs and other information.  Without knowing a lot more about your system, file source, software version, computer, etc., everything is a guess.
