Question

Colour management issue?

Hi, recently when I use Premier Elements 2023 video editor I've had an issue that any photos or video turn a really green shade when I import them, and they stay like that meaning the exported video has a very green shade too making it unusable. Any ideas what might be causing this and how it can be fixed? I think it might be to do with colour management but not sure how to fix. Thanks, Graham

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter
.
nVidia Driver Downloads https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
-for all Adobe programs use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
-To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive
-testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top
-creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond
528.49 3-13-23 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/199662/en-us/
.
If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver
-SOME laptops require an approved driver from the laptop company, not nVidia

Thanks for the advice John. I've done as suggested and updated the graphics driver directly from the NVIDIA website, restarted but it's still the same. Very strange - the same thing happens when I attach images to emails in Outlook, they turn really green, but then fine again when downloaded from same email if I send it to myself.  With Adobe Elements they turn a shade of green when I import them, and then when I export the resulting video that's still green.

In some cases, the newest graphics driver has an issue with a particular program.  You might have to try an older NVIDIA  driver.  And, as John suggested, the studio driver is usually the better choice.   However, I had a NVIDIA game driver running for a long time and it was fine.

Video editors rely on graphics drivers.  If yours is not current, you can have trouble with the colors.   Update your video drivers!
