I had the 2023 version which was simple, and just updated to 2025. The directions to do picture in picture in my new version are not in the user manual (2022) and I can't figure out how to place a piccture in picture in my videos that relate to painting a painting. I want to have the completed painting in one of the corners for reference. .Help?

Correct answer Bill Sprague

Steve's method works well.  My preference is to do it graphically by double clicking the inset image.   That allows me to grab the corners to resize it or grab the middle to move it.

With the primary video file on Video 1, put the image file of the completed painting above it on Video 2.   Then move it and size it as you want.

Thank you for your response. I have done that and it puts the picture on the monitor but I cannot move or resize it. I have right clicked, left clicked, the pic is just superimposed in middle of my video.

Try selecting the clip's Motion in the Effect Controls panel. Then you should be able to adjust its scale and position in the Program Monitor.
