Question

"default output" says my speaker is "not working" (2020)

Just installed Pre 2020 and there's no sound. The speakers work; the same prel plays back in PRE 2014. Audio settings say my speaker is "not working." Any ideas please?

Also, can I reach a support specialist? I'm stuck in the endless loop...to you.

Sorry it loops to here.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware and make changes.  Default Input at "none" seems to work.  The choices will be different depending on your computer.  Try them all until it works.

If you want an Adobe employed specialist, use the Help Menu and select Online Support.  It will take you to a website.  In the lower right corner is a "chat" icon.  Click on it.   Sometimes responce is quick, sometimes slower.  They can remotely run and fix your computer.

It spontaneously resolved after I tried everything (audio troubleshooters, reboots, disabling speaker properties unnecessarily) and I finally found the chat icon (the cookie banner was hiding it). Thanks.
