Delete and close gap

I have Elements 13.

I have 2 video tracks.

I want to delete a clip on Video 1 and close the gap.

The Edit menu gives that option or use Backspace (see screenshot) but when I delete the clip the option to close the gap is gone (see screenshot).

Is it possible to delete and close the gap when you have more than 1 video track or do you have to manually shift every clip to the left?

When you have right-clicked on the clip, Elements does not know at that point in time what option is going to be selected and does not take in account what clips are in the timeline and where.

Hence the option not being grayed out, but selectable.

You cannot close the gap as clips in V2 are blocking the way.

If you select both clips on the left, they will be deleted and gap will be closed.

I assumed that was the case but I find the Edit option confusing as it implies that it is possible when it isn't.
