Question

Doing the Elements 2025 trial, is there anyone to speak to in case of problems????

Hello, I am quite appalled that there seems to be no one to speak to from Adobe in case one has problems with their software? Is that right?

First time working with Elements 2025, used to use 2018, then gave up on it, because the rendering times were horrendous on Windows and Apple computers, went with Filmora, first very happy, then it became a money-making machine, but because I make music videos, often using the green screen, 2018 wasn't enough anymore. Now doing a trial for 2025. So far some things are similar, what I don't like is that if I put my sound clip on Audio 1 and then bring down the first clip, it seems to override that clip and places two or three soundtracks for that clip and as I saw on this tutorial, if I bring down another clip (and I often do several takes), then all those sound tracks get muddled up. Is there a way to override that? Because right now it all looks like a huge mess!!!! I only need the sound on my filmed clips so that I can sync them with the sound track, then I am happy to separate them from the clip and delete them, if that is possible!

Still need to find out what the green screen capabilities are! Not happy the trial is now 7 days, because one goes to so much trouble to try to find answers, that is not fair! So far, not too happy!!!!

Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't provide support for trial versions.

Hopefully, Bill Sprague or @Ann Bens  will be able to help.

Thanks Bob.... But the thing is, if they don't help out those doing the trial versions, they might just go elsewhere! Moreover, I have the feeling that even if you buy the full version you have to pay on the side for any help you get, because they keep asking me if I have a paid plan. Maybe not the software for me, which is sad because I was happy with Elements 2018 and only gave up on it because rendering, on Windows and Mac, was horrendous, never seen anything like it, but somehow, when I went back to it a few weeks ago, that was fixed, I just miss more updated AI options, that's all.

Google searching will provide various phone numbers for Adobe.   That said, the years of software products having printed manuals and personal phone coaches are pretty much gone.   I've used Adobe products for years and have never tried phone support so I don't know how it works.

This forum is a good place to get help on specific issues.   With a better idea of your audio issue, it might be solvable.   Automatic syncing is not a feature of Premiere Elements.  Use of a clapper or alignment of wave forms is necessary.    Can you provide a screen shot of what is "muddled up"?

For your green screen question, the tool used in Premiere Elements is "Chroma Key".   Last time I looked, there were enough YouTube tutorials to make it clear how it works.

Hi Bill, thanks for your reply! I have done a Google search, of course, but, so far I have not found any telephone number for Adobe! Printed manuals, sorry, I am not sure what you are talking about, never heard of any printed manuals for recording or video editing software! I am glad you have never had problems with any software you bought, but more and more sofwtare is not properly developed. Developers seem to be more interested in churning out versions than selling you something that is properly developed, so one would be paying for support to solve their own problems. Sorry if that is something I can't agree with.............. Forums used to be a good place to get information one needs, but maybe the kind people who populate them got fed up of doing the job the custumer or technical service should do? So nowadays, more often than not, no one answers! Tutorials are also a good start when one has questions, but then again, with so many versions, the help they offer is many times not applicable and if one posts questions very often one gets no answer. When the problem is a bug, that is even worse. I find it a real liability to be paying for something if there is no help on hand!

The audio issue is problematic in my case. I am sending you a screenshot of one of the options! Although, as I inserted it before I ended writing this message every time I went on writing it would jump to the photo, so I couldn't see what I was writing. Deleted it and will add it at the end again. I had added my track, as I always do in other editors, then inserted the first track into the timeline. So far all very straight forward, as everything I do usually is! Because I know that the audio tracks of the videos would make my track disappear I created a few more tracks  and put it further down. This time it only created two then for video one (it seems to change from time to time). When I added a second video (usually I make a few), the original track disappeared completely and many more tracks were made from just that second video. I have never, ever seen that on any of the other editors I tried out. Usually there is a little sound track under each clip, not at all intrusive and only one Audio track, which suits me fine. So, this is something I didn't even know existed! I saw this happen in a tutorial too. And the sound tracks of the videos jump the other videos and appear down, very misleading and why so many? If there is someone one can talk to, OK, they can solve the problem, but no one at all? If I had paid for it, either I would have just demanded my money back or else I would have wasted quite a bit of money. I also think that normally speaking they would want to listen to what is working and not, as to better the software, but clearly they are not! Automatic syncing is very important, if you make music videos, and a lot of videographers nowadays do, but OK, I can do it manually, even if more of a bother. Not sure what a clapper is, but it is so handy... Yes, I did follow a tutorial in order to see how the Chroma Key works here (same as green screen), didn't work for me. In the tutorial it was just put on the top of the background, but either on the top or down, it did not work. What I am used to is that there is a feature where one clicks, which turns the footage into the transparency it needs. Have worked with such features a lot of times without a problem! One thing that used to be possible, to add tracks where one needed them, that is now gone and one can only add on the top or at the beginning and has then to select everything and move everything up or down, which is a huge bother, especially if you have done all the syncing!

Francisca,

I don't think I wrote that I've never had software problems!  I meant to write that I've not used voice line technical support for a very long time.  Instead I've used forums and, in a few cases,  online "chats".   Adobe does offer a chat system.

Regarding this forum, there are a half dozen regulars that seem to check this Premiere Elements forum daily.   Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail and sometimes we never know if we help or not.

Your screen shot shows you are using ".mts" video files.  I had a Panasonic camcorder that used that format.  The multiple audio tracks are "AC3", a Dolby developed format that is part of the .mts files.   None of Adobe's software supports AC3 now.  The best solution is to use something like Handbrake and convert it to usable two channel.

When I need audio syncing, I use Premiere Pro and it works very well.  If I need to sync multiple tracks in Premier Elements I use a loud sharp noise that is also visible like a hand clap.   I can sync the audio spike to the moment the hands touch.

Not sure I can make the Chroma Key procedure work to your liking.  When I've used it, it works.

A "clapper" looks like this:
