Question

DVD option removed from 2024.

I have recently upgraded from Premier Elements 2021 to 2024.  I have for some years completed projects which are videos of our safari holiday – some of which are 90 minutes long.   So I always export to a DVD – up until now.   To say the least I am very disappointed that the developers have decided to remove this feature from the 2022 version (which I was unaware until my contact on the chat line recently.   I was told there was third party software which could provide a DVD copy – but I have searched the web and tried numerous products, but none will recognise a .prel file.   So I cannot transfer to a .iso file for a DVD burn.   The options for export are now limited (for me) and even a TV export version of .mp4 file will not work on my TV.   So I am left with only the computer to view my Safari Projects or I return to my 2021 version – that is certainly progress and a waste of money.   So if you can help with my difficulty I would be extremely grateful or any suggestions to remedy would be appreciated.

Hi - thanks.   No reason other than I have completed a project with the 2024 version and I would have to start again with the 2021 version.   I will resort to that but when I try and load the project it says there is an error with the 2021 version so it seems a new start may be required.

Project files are NOT backwards compatible (and sometimes trying to open a project file created in an older version does not work very well)

Export as MP4 and use that file to author a DVD in one of the programs at the links I provided

In 3 party software you do not use the .prel file but rather export to mpeg2-dvd and use that file in the software.

You can ask for your money back within 30 days of purchase from Adobe.

Hi - thanks.   However my limited experience on this means I cannot see where I can save this setting.   It refuses saying I have to create a custom settings - then I am lost?
