Many have reported the problem resolved by updating to a 2017 nVidia driver.

Steve, I am having the same issue but without an error message. Video editor and Organizer open just fine - what should I be looking for on my video graphic card to see if this is an issue?

Personnaly, I am using a NVIDIA GeForce 820m graphic card and the same problem has been solved while I updated my graphic card driver.
