Exporting video for Youtube

Hello,

What is the best video format output to export for YouTube high quality videos?

I record my videos on IPhone XR with the highest quality selected in settings (4K). Then I enhance it through the sound auto gain and video exposure in PE. I also add sound and visual effects.

Sometimes, when I export to a 4K video, it works well. Sometimes, it crashes (black screen, mixed frames).

Thanks!

I think the majority of YouTube watchers use 1920x1080 screens.  Even small phone screens with higher resolution, don't benifit from 4K resolution.   On top of that, YouTube will reprocess everything to facilitate efficient viewing.   It used to be that it was very important to get the upload right.  Now YouTube has grown more sophistacated and less critical.

That means that the typical HD ("1080p) output that uses the typicla H.264 codec and an MP4 container will upload and look good on YouTube.

In other words, 4K might be very good on your local 4K TV, but won't do much for you on YouTube.
