Question

Fading Image "flashes" using ChromaKey

Premiere Elements 2019.

To quickly add visuals to a speaker's presentation, I created slides in PowerPoint, did timings, and then exported as an mp4, which I added to the Project as "Video 2." I made PPT the background "green screen" so Premier would detect it and use ChromaKey to remove the borders. When the project compiled/exported as an mp4, as the slides faded out, There'd be a brief white "flash." Attached is a frame-by-frame of one instance. Note rows 4 and 5. The original PPT slide is in the lower right corner.

Can you tell me how to avoid this behavior?

Thanks in advance.

The fade out may be challenging the chroma key process.

Instead, remove the area outside the slide using the Garbage Matte. Then you should be able to  dissolve out of the slides.

Here's my tutorial on using the Garbage Matte to mask outside an area. The tutorial is about using Garbage Mattes in combination with Chroma Key, but it can also be used by itself -- which might be your best solution.

Thanks for your prompt reply Stave. The slide backgrounds extend to the viewable area of the primary vid. But I'll play with Garbage. Very nice succinct tutorial. Thanks again.
