Question

Future support of Premiere Elements

I really like this software but the more I hear of Adobe not supporting or including capabilities in Premiere Elements going forward, like they once did, should I be looking for another editing software that I won’t have to subscribe to?  Any suggestions?

Have you considered Premiere Pro?

It does, however, require a more powerful computer than Premiere Elements.

Thank Peru Bob,

I have the horsepower, just don't have the business to support the subscription.  I won't bother you folks with this any more.

Thanks for the responses.

It was not a "bother".

If what you have does what you want there is no need to consider future versions... also, Adobe generally does not tell what is going to be in the next version (and Beta testors sign an NDA so can't comment until the next version is released)

For me, version 2021 works with the video from my Canon SX510 camera (and some sample 4k files I downloaded) and it will create a DVD so I don't need a newer version (I have read that DVD creation was removed from version 2023)

So, as Bill asked, what do you want to do that Premiere Elements doesn't do?

I continue to use it because it continues to do what I want quickly and efficiently.   None of the features, tools or techniques I use are missing or unsupported. As far as other choices go, it would depend on your needs.  What do you want editing software to do that you can't do with what you have?

Thanks Bill. As I said, I do like this software. I'm currently using 2022
and it currently does what I need as well. I usually get an upgrade every
couple of years and have been doing so for many iterations. I'm just
hoping they're going to continue to allow me to grow with new bells and
whistles in the future, as opposed to taking things away. I do a very
small amount of video business utilizing this software and I was just
wondering if there is another that I can follow up with, as backup, if this
doesn't continue to grow as well.
