Generic Import Error - MOV Files (Rocketstock Transitions)

Hello Everyone,

I've upgraded from PE2018 to PE2019 and I use the Rocketstock Stanza Transitions in my videos.

In the 2018 version, importing these MOV was easy.
In the 2019 version, it keeps coming up as a Import Generic Error.

One solution was to Transcode/Convert the MOV files into an MP4 movie and I tested it on one Transition which worked however, doing this to ALL of the Rocketstock Files seems time consuming.

Has anyone been able to find a remedy to this issue?

Thank you.

Support for Quick Time formats has been removed in Adobe Premiere Elements 2019. However, those codecs supported by native operating systems will continue to work with PRE 2019 as well. In earlier version of Premiere Elements, if Quick time was installed in the machine, it used to leverage those codecs to decode in Premiere Elements. Following page might be useful -

Well they dont work. I have Pr Pro installed and they import nicely in the mac.

Made a prores export from Prpro and all that imports into E19 is the audio. Same goes for Cineform.

Thank you. That's very helpful.

Premiere Elements can not edit Quicktime ProRes files, which are a professional format. (I don't know why you were able to in version 2018.)

Hi Steve.

This is quite strange as 2018 allowed Prores (albeit with a little debug).

Link below.

Issues while importing MOV file with ProRes video format | Windows

This option doesn't appear on the debug options on the 2019.

Looks like I'll be looking at other forums or ask for a refund as I only had 2019 less than 6 hours and already, I'm not pleased.

I remember importing prores in 2018. Not not able to do so even on a Mac, while all the codec are installed.

I will ask around if this is a bug or by design.

It depends on the specs of those video files.

Open one of your MOV videos in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the report and paste it to this forum.

Once we know what those files are made of we'll better be able to recommend a solution.
