Question

GoPro garbled / spotty

I have various clips shot by my GoPro. When I cut and combine these clips, the end resul is spotty / garbled. The work around is that I first convert each clip individually in PE to a new clip and then combine the new clips in a new video. Any easier solution? I hoped the solution was to shot only in 4K but even when all GoPro footage is in 4K, the same issue arises.

GoPro footage shot at 4000 * 3000

Project settings 3840 * 2160

Transition at Dissolve, two seconds

Export & Share settings 4K high quality

You're using a video resolution and possibly a frame rate that is not a standard Premiere Elements can match its project settings to. Is it possible to shoot your video at 3840x2160 at 30 fps? That alone will likely resolve your issue (since it's likely what's happening when you convert your video to an editable standard).

Hello Steve, I guess you are right but GoPro's 4K is at 4000*3000 (or at 5k). I use the higest possible resolution for taking stills from a video clip. Understand your suggestion but would it not be nice if PE supports GoPro footage! I don't think I am the oly one with this issue. Thank you for your reply.

Premiere Elements can edit GoPro footage as long as it is either 3840x2160 at 30 fps or 1920x1080 at either 30fps or 60 fps. Many are successfully editing GoPro footage (including me) when the cam is set to one of these specs.
