Question

GoPro Hero 7 Imort

  Greetings!

I have a GoPro Hero 7 Black and I have been recording in the 2.7K resolution 60 FPS. I have gotten the files off the camera onto my computer but I cannot import them into Premier Elements 9. The only thing that imports is the audio. When I encode it in Handbrake and bring it into Premier Elements 9, nothing really works. I appreciate the feedback.

Version 9 is eight versions and years ago.  It is where I started with Premiere Elements.  If I remember right, I was able to trick it into reading 1080p60 files by setting up the project at 30p.  It was not until (maybe) version 10 that 1920p60 "AVCHD" was listed as supported.

In short, you can try a variety of project settings, but it might just be too old to work. Try the settings under DSLR with a "p" in them.  You can also try a free copy of the current version to see how it handles the 2.7K files with the computer you have.  If you like it, you can buy a serial number.

Ha, I enjoy buying high end action cameras and using super old software. Thanks for the dose of reality. Will the new Premier software be able to handle this high end footage?

It should be able to. But I'd encourage you to download the free trial and give it a test drive just to make sure it can handle your workflow before you purchase the software.
