Have activation code for Premiere elements 2020, but need to use 2019 and code will not work [macOS]

On MacOS (10.12.4) - I inadvertently got premiere elements 2020 and my system will only support 2019. 2019 will not accept my activation code and I am terrified to upgrade to high sierra in fear of having to upgrade a lot of other software. I cannot seem to find a location to ask for help with this and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Adobe no longer sells PE 2019.

Hi Rosanna,

Thanks for writing in. As @Peru Bob mentioned, Adobe sells only the latest version i.e. Premiere Elements 2020. You may need to get in touch with the reseller for the Adobe Premiere Elements 2019.
