Question

HDR videos are overexposed in APE2025

Recently I shoot some videos with iPhone 15, Pixel 9 and Pixel 7. HDR was on while shooting and they appear fine on phone screen. But when I import them to PC, they looks very overexposed. Also when I import them to APE2025, I could not manage to set the brightness level right.

When I send the same video to someone using WhatsApp and then download it over PC, it looks fine. But original video gets overexposed.

If you want to check what I am talking about, you can check my footages -

Can you please suggest any solution?

Elements is not really equiped to handle HDR.

There is no color management : there is no way to set color space.

You also need a hdr monitor to propetly edit hdr footage.

Either use professional software or next time film in SDR.

May be you are right, but if you go for export, you do see some HDR related settings. They do not work like Resolve though.
