Question

help with exporting segments of video footage

I have 20 minutes of video footage.  I am inserting segments (5) of that into a Powerpoint presentation.

My current workflow is as follows:

  • i already have the footage split into segments.
  • I then save the file 5 times, called segment 1, segment 2 etc
  • I then go into each copy and delete the segments not required
  • i then export these files to MP3 or MPEG4
  • and insert them into the Powerpoint

I feel like this workflow is clunky.

any  suggestions?

Thanks

Helen

You do not mention which Elements version or OS you are using

MP3 is audio and Mpeg4 is low on quality.

Make just one project and import your video into the timeline.

Cut out the pieces you don't want.

Now use the Work Area Bar to export each clip separately (5x)

For export, use H.264 (mp4)

Thanks Ann

I have Premiere Elements 2025.  Yes you are right.  I am using mp4, not the others.

Who would have thought H.264 = mp4 ...

I don't really understand what you mean by  "use the Work Area Bar to export each clip separately (5x)"?

sorry

Helen

There are markers on the timeling to set the beginng and end of the "work area".  You slide them into place with your mouse.  In the output section there is a selection box that includeds "Work Area" only.
