Question

HEVC import not possible - Premiere Elements 2020 (Testversion)

I have a GoPro 7 and would like to edit the videos. The videos are in MP4 format and HEVC. I have already loaded the HEVC codec for 99 cents from the Microsoft Store and can also play the videos on my PC without any problems. With Premiere Elements 2000 (trial version) I get the message that the system must be configured for HEVC. I have already followed Adobe's instructions and also deleted the video cache. I still can't import HEVC videos.

I ask for help and support.

Hi Johannes,

Sorry to hear that. I appreciate that you tried to troubleshoot the issue for importing HEVC files before contacting us.

Have you tried the suggestions provided here: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/hevc-decoding-on-windows.html?

Thanks,

Shivangi

Hello shivangi_gupta, thanks for your answer.
However, I had already written at the beginning that I followed Adobe's instructions and it still didn't work.

I'm sorry for the delay. We have been actively working on finding a solution to this issue. We have identified that this is happening because of the permissions provided to the HEVC video extension.

Check out this article to fix it: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-elements/faq-what-should-i-do-if-premiere-elements-2020-fail...

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Shivangi

Hi @JohannesK83,

Can you share the clip details that you are trying to import in PRE 2020? You can use the mediaInfo software to share the media information.

Regards,

Anubhav
