How do delete extra files after completing a project

Does anyone know how to delete the temp, etc files after a project has been completed? The only place I save was in the preferences, media cache. It's set to 2 GB and after clicking 'clean now' the sizes of the C and D drives are still larger than before the project was completed even after adding the size of the project and export files. I follow the paths in the prefs: scratch disks and there are still 64 files totaling almost 600MB in the C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files folder. Is it safe to manually delete all of these and are there any other locations I can clean out?

If you are done with the project, you can delete all of those files.

My way of doing that is to create a dedicated folder for each project. As soon as I start the project, I check the preferences to be sure all the scratch disk files are "Same as project". In the dedicated folder are subfolders for video, photo and audio assets. In those subfolders are copies of assests I keep in a primary storage system (with backups). When the project is complete, I can elect to move the entire folder, assets and all to large external storage drives, or I can delete all traces of it by deleting the folder.

Thanks, that sounds like a great idea.

I checked and the only thing that did not default to 'same as project' in the prefs was the Media cache which was C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common. The C: drive is an SSD, if I change to the 😧 drive which is a 2TB 7200rpm HD will performance suffer much?

I also notice many subfolders under D:\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements\20.0. taking up over 750GB for a 31 minute project. The project was stored in the default location D:\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Elements.

If I delete the files on C under 'Common' but not the actual project file and assets, will the project still be intact if I need to further edit? I'm assuming all new projects created after I set the Media cache to 'same as project' the stray extra files on C won't be a problem.
