How do I insert a photo clip onto a colored matte

I am using PE 12 I am able to create a new color matte and would like to insert photos over the top of the new color matte rather than the default black. How do I proceed? Thanks

In Expert Mode:

Color matte on video track 1

Photo or video clip on video track 2

Scale down the clip on track 2 if necessary.

Sorry I just remembered how I did this in the past. In case anyone else would like to do this you first create your color matte and than instead of inserting your photo onto the timeline you do a drag and drop of the photo directly onto the color matte
