Question

How do we convert typed text into a text box?

We have typed in multiple lines of text by initially clicking in the monitor screen.  Now when we attempt to resize the text object, it also resizes and skews the text versus resizing just the selected text box.

How do we convert the typed text into a text box or paragraph text so we can resize the box and re-wrap text without changing the text size at the same time?

Thank you for any assistance.

I can't find a way to make that work withing Premiere Elements.  However, you can make a text box with a transparent backgrouind in Photoshop Elements (or similar).  That can be placed on a top timeline track and be manipulated for position, size and shape.  I have not (yet!) figured out how to automated text wrapping as you change the shape of the box.

I found that text wrapping works in Photoshop Elements.  Open a new blank file with a transparent background.  Click on the text tool, click and hold your left mouse button and drag down and to the right, till you get the size box you need.  The cursor, by default will be in the upper hand corner.  Just start typing, or past your text in.  PSE does not have full justification (lines spaced out evenly along the left and right sides- like a newspaper) - jest left, right, and center. Changing the shape of the box will cause the text to wrap.  Save the file as a .PSD to preserve the transparent background.  Then import it to the Premiere Elements project as you would a photo and put it above the section where you want it to display.   You can change where it displays and the size, but the text wrap no longer works.
