Question

How do you delete a transition in Premiere Elements 2022?

I made a video with a 3D motion flip-over transition and converted it to an MP4 file.  Later I decided to remove the flip-over transition, but I can't figure out how to do it.

I Googled it and it said that I need to shift-click on the clip to remove it, but that didn't work.

Is it even possible to remove the flip-over transitoin once its been converted to an MP4 file? If so, how can I do it?

You created a new file... that new file is complete, not a project that may be edited

As far as I know, you need to go back to your project and remove and create a new output file

I turned the MP4 file back to a Prel file thinking that it would allow me to edit out the flip-over, but it didn't work.

Thank you for the information. What you're saying makes sense. I didn't realize I can't remove transitions once the project is saved as an MP4. Fortunatley, I am able to edit-out parts of the video that I don't want from the MP4 file, and that seems to work ok.  I'll just delete the part of the video with the flip-over and re-add that part of the video without the flip.

UPDATE:

I found the .Prel file. I guess I did back it up. Now if I could only figure out how to remove the transition. I see the where it is located. There is a horizontal line where it starts, just like when I cut parts of the video out.

Zoom in if you need to -- but all you really need to do is select the transition and press the Delete button your keyboard.

Thank you for the suggestion. I zoomed in and didn't see the transition. For some reason the 3D motion transition isn't showing on the video. I'm wondering if its because I saved it already,  or turned it into an MP4 file from a Prel file. When I saved it, it saved as a Prel file so I tried deleting the transition again, but I still wasn't able to do it. When I pressed the delete button, the whole video got deleted. Fortunately, I just clicked on 'undo' and got it back. It doesn't seem to be easy for me to remove the flip-over transition. I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong. I even put the cursor right where the transition starts since I don't see the transition in the timeline. If only there was a "clear transition" option in the menu.
