How to change WebCam capture format setting

Hi,

When I capture from my webcam, it only allows the file format to be QTKit which means the files I'm capturing are huge. I can't see anyway to change the file format it captures to. I really need the file sizes to be much much smaller when capturing from webcam. Any ideas how I can change this?

I'm using PE-14 for Mac and using the built-in iSight webcam.

    Video files are large. Especially DV-AVIs.

    What format is the program saving your files as and how many gigabytes per minute of running time are these files?

    Are you saying that you're capturing from your webcam using Add Media/From Webcam -- or are you using another program to capture from your webcam?

    Thanks for replying and sorry for such a slow response!

    Yes I am capturing from my webcam using Add Media/From Webcam (so within Premiere Elements).

    The files are huge and it's really frustrating.
