How To Clip Audio Track Without Clipping Video

I'm using Premiere Elements 2021 (V 19.0)

I have a silent video to which I've added a song soundtrack.  The video is a bit too long and I'd like to remove a verse from the song, then edit my video track to suit the length of the "new" song.  I don't seem to be able to edit the sound track separately however.  Clipping on the timeline affects both video and audio and deleteing the clipped timeline deletes both video and audio.  Could someone let me know if there's a way to shorten the audio separately from the video?

Thank you.

I thought I'd answer my own question: position the timeline marker where you want to cut the audio, highlight the audio track, press the ALT key, click the clip icon.  This appears to clip only the audio track.  Another clip, placed further on the timeline, will then allow you to delete the segment between the two clip markers without affecting the video track.
