HOWTO: PE 14.1 / Setting Options in Rolling Text

PE 14.1 on a WIN7 PC, working with an HD video in Expert View.

I have added some rolling text (Default Roll) to the timeline (Video 2) & have my text in there.

According to the contents of page #199 (Chapter 8 "Creating Titles") of the " Adobe Premier Help"

(filename is premier-elements_reference-EN14.pdf) one can set roll and crawl options.

It states to double-click the title clip & the adjust panel changes to display the text options.

Then it states to select Text > Roll/Crawl options & this I do not see.  Any ideas?

This is a screen shot of my session:

Correct answer Steve Grisetti

Are you clicking on the Text tab on the Adjustments panel? You should not be.

As I said above, you should click on the Text menu at the TOP OF THE PROGRAM. There you will find the options to control Roll/Crawl.

Ah - that is now clear:

You had written:

go to the Text menu at the top of the interface

Definition of "Interface" - where the answer to the problem usually stares....

Sorry Steve - I must be missing something.

My screenshot shows that Text is selected - clicking it again has no effect.

There is no change to what I showed in the screen shot.

We are talking about Text (as to the left of Style, Animation etc.)?

Once you've opened the title in the Title Adjustments workspace (as you have in your illustration, go to the Text menu at the top of the interface and select the Roll/Crawl Options.

(FWIW, my book on Amazon gets this right. )
