Like MP4, M2T is a container file.  The usual disired output is a video file using the H.264 coded, with 1920x1080 HD file resolution.   What output choices are you selecting?  What is your intended purpose of the video?  Does it matter what the container file extension name is?

PE 2020

I also use Corel’s video editing software. That was my primary app until I
recently picked up PE. In it saves the file to M2t. I can play those fine
on either computer or stick in BluRay player for Tv.

My ultimate goal is to save 1080p at highest quality both audio (pcm
preferably) and video (28mbps or higher).

Thanks much for your help.

The compression and quality is the same for an MP4 or and M2T. The M2T just has some extra metadat in it.

For playback, an MP4 will give you excellent quality.

You can, of course, also create your own custom output preset and up the bitrates, but you'll only get a bigger and not necessarily a better-looking file.
