I can't hear audio in Premiere Elements 15

I can import the audio just fine and I can hear audio in the exported video, but I can't hear it in the editor. This makes it impossible to make any good changes to the audio. I can't hear audio from the video and the audio that I add either. How can I fix this?

Under the program's Edit menu, select Preferences and go to the Audio Hardware page. Try switch around the settings, both for incoming and outgoing audio.

I'm having more issues with Premiere elements than any other free editing software I've ever used!!! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!

    Not sure why you posted your comment here. But this is a user to user forum and we can only help you if you've got a question. Or if you'd like a recommendation for a program that better fits your hardware and workflow.

      Thank you very much. It's working fine after that.

      For some reason, it worked before but the settings are different. I changed them now. I've had this problem before, so maybe I changed something that I shouldn't have previously.

      I can hear it perfectly now.

        I can't prove it or duplicate it, but I pretty sure my audio setting got changed on a Windows 10 routine update.

          What operating system are you using?

          Do other clips (music, for instance) play sound on your timeline?

          What model of camcorder is your video coming from?

          Please open one of your video files in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy and paste the report it generates to this forum.

          I am using Windows 10.

          I have tried other clips, none of them work.

          The video is a screen recording which I used NVIDIA GeForce Experience to record. I used the same method before and it worked just fine, this problem has only started recently. The audio that I was trying to add was a .wav file voice recording which I used Audacity for.
