When I open a project in my element 24 created with element 14 , the video and audio track is shown but there is no content.

Building on Steve's reply, the only reliable work around is to use the finished output from the earlier version project as source footage in the newer version.  It may not be perfect, but is workable depending on what your goals are.   This may be the only choice if you are upgrading computers and can't install your old version on the new computer.

Premiere Elements is not backwards compatible. You can't work on a project created in an older version of the program with a newer version of the project. In fact, trying to do so can often corrupt the project file.

I'd recommend completing your project 14 video in version 14 and starting new projects in version 2024.
