Hi everyone! I recently picked up Adobe Premire ELEMENTS (the 2021 version) for the first time ever to help me make reels for instagram, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to use some of this programs settings. This is despite their being a beginner mode and an expert mode.

For some reason, some of my settings appeared to be "locked" and I do not know why. Can anyone tell me why this is and how I can fix this?

My copy of Adobe Premire ELEMENTS also seems to look fairly different compared to some of the versions that I've seen in Youtube channels which kind of just adds to my fustration.

Text edited by mod: changed Pro to Elements.

You bought a copy of Premiere Elements not Premiere Pro.

Premiere Pro is subscription only.

Project settings in Elements cannot be changed.

You need to start over or

On a side note you cannot make 1:1 or portrait project settings in Elements 2021.

You need 2022 to do that or make your own project settings

Elements is quite limited compared to Pro.

After reading all this I am guessing you will be rather disappointed.

Hi! Thank you so much for answering my question! I apologize for responding fairly late, irl has kept me fairly busy. I am also sorry about posting my question in the wrong forum. ^^'

I am a little disapointed since I bought this software and Adobe Photoshop Elements with my new Alienware laptop from Dell and I thought that these programs would be useful since I figured there would be a fair number of things that I could do with them, but that sadly seems to not be the case from what you say. Is Adobe Photoshop Elements just as limited?

Before jumping to buy Premire Pro, I'll give these tutorial videos a watch and see if there is anyway I can make Premire Elements work with me before I buy Pro. 😕😕

It has been quite some time since I last dived into Adobe Software and I am highly grateful that there are active people like you on this form. Tysm for your help! 🙂
