I have 2023 Premiere Elements

when I add media ( pictures or video) it puts them in backwards order.  How can I get this program to put them in the order that I have them marked.  I have all pictures & video renamed with numbers and I never had the problem with older visions of Premiere Elements

Before you add the media to your timeline, go to the Project Asset's panel's options (in the upper right corner) and select the Sort order to order according to name. Once the files are resorted, you should be able to add the group in this order.

this has created another problem. when you change to sort order according
to name, it removes the highlighted items, so the only way to put them on
the timeline is one by one or at least to click on each one individually.
Why does this program not bring them in order to the add media section? Is
this a program error or did they just miss this function or is there a
setting somewhere in the program to fix this?

It's just the way it is, for better or worse. I personally find it a little frustrating too. I wish it would sort by name automatically and keep that sort instead of my having to re-sort it each time I open the Project Assets panel.
