Importer reported generic error (Brand new Elements user here)

I'm trying to import a MP4 file from my home security system.  I can see that the file was imported into my video folder, but I'm getting the "importer reported generic error message and the guide will not let me proceed to the next step.  I'm using Windows 10 Home Edition with Adobe Premiere Elements 13. 

As an aside, I really appreciate the forum here already. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to get by the "missing disk" pop-up...  It's been a little frustrating so far.  Any help is much appreciated...
