Question

importing .vob files in APE 18 on windows 7 64bit

I recently upgraded from APE10 to APE18. The prels created from .vob files do not import into APE18.  Furthermore, when I import the .vob files individually, only the video is present. I read the helpx.adobe post "Supported file formats in Adobe Premiere Elements." It states that .vob files are not supported on Windows 7. Are there any codecs or tricks that would allow me to import .vob files (and .vobs in prels)?  I know that I can convert .vob files to .avi files with avidemux – that works – but it’s very time consuming.

vobs contain ac3 audio (dolby). dolby is not supported on w7.

You have to convert the files or upgrade to Elements 2018.

Adobe Creative Cloud apps use native OS support for Dolby

I already have APE 18, and it doesn’t import the audio, probably for the reason you ask.  But surely there’s a codec fix for this problem?
