Lengthy exports

I've been using Premiere Elements successfully for some time.  My edits are usually fairly straightforward and simple. I usually end up with a 5 minute or less clip to export at the end.  In 4K 3840x2160 60fps that will usually take around 30 minutes or so to export.

Yesterday I started experimenting with more advanced (for me) adjustments adding an adjustment layer and several effects (x4) to that.  Then I went to export it.  16 hours later it finished!  The clip looks great but I can't afford to wait all that time if that's expected.  Is that normal? Or do I need to look deeper?

I'm using PE2022 with a Windows 10 Intel Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz and 32GB RAM and SSDs

Computer as in CPU is a dinosaur. No wonder it takes so long.

Well, the more effects you add -- especially to 4K video -- the more time it's going to take. I can't tell you what's "normal" without doing the same thing with the same files. But 16 hours does seem a bit excessive for a 5 minute clip.

I'm asssuming you have a good GPU and that your preferences are using your GPU power. As an experiment, in preferences (under the Edit menu on a PC), uncheck the option to Use Hardware Acceleration. It's counter-intuitive, but this feature often causes more problems than it fixes.

If that doesn't make a difference, I'm not sure what to recommend.

Fair enough
Been using it with no great issues for ages until now. Just surprised there was such a huge difference.
