Lock audio or video track

Question

I have just acquired Premier 15 and would like to know how I can lock say, the audio track while I do some cutaways in the video track such that I can insert small sections of other video clips into the now vacant video slots but without their respective audio using instead the track of the original clip.

If the audio and video track are from the same camera/clip, you unlink the two by selecting the clip, right clicking and "unlinking" the audio from the video. The audio half will change color. Now you can take out and remove chunks of the video track.

You may also have to unlink the audio and video from the piece being inserted.
