Loosing one sec of sound in .mts

Does Premiere elements 15 Support a .cpi extension file? 
I have a recorded concert and I would like to put it together but each of the .mts files 
literally loses a second of sound before the end. 
Apparently, this may resolve importing other files into the assembly program, except .mts
 but I don't know how to do it.
