Lost sound on all my projects after using Clip-Mate

I am using Premiere Elements 15 and have just installed the latest update.

Today I tried using ClipMate as recommended to join together two projects. I finally got it to work, but then noticed that the resulting project had no sound. I cannot remember if the sound was there when I first opened the projects (i.e. could it be something to do with the update?)

I saved and closed the project and restarted Elements and now NO projects have any sound, even those that I have not used Clipmate on. I have tried closing Clipmate but that has no effect. HELP! I do not want to lose every project I have ever done!

Correct answer Bill Sprague

After years of reliable use of several Premier Elements versions I had a surprise audio issue.  It seems that after one of the automated Windows 10 updates, something was effected in my copy of Premiere Elements.   Read this topic:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2315440  It will explain some things you can check and do.

FWIW, use of Clipmate will have unknown issues.   Its use not encouraged, even acknowledged, by anyone at Adobe.

To add an update, even new projects have no sound, so Elements is basically useless now!

Thank you, seems it was the Windows 10 update that affected the sound, corrected by inserting the audio input as in the thread mentioned above.
