Lowering the volume for part of an audio-video clip so that another audio-only file can be heard

In PE2015, I have a project in which there is one audio+video track, and one audio-only track. When the audio-only track appears, I want that portion of the audio-video track to be silent. How do I do that?

Can you confirm you're using version 15 Premiere Elements?

 

That said, you want use audio keyframes to raise and lower the volume of your music at specific points. How you do this can depend on which version of the program you're using.
