Please check in Keyboard Customization if "Delete and Close Gap" is bound to "Delete" key in Premiere Elements. Go to Edit > Keyboard Customization and expand the Edit dropdown. Here, you should be able to see what shortcut is "Delete and Close Gap" bound to currently and you can also change it if needed.

Thank You very much.

1) I see "Löschen und Lücke schließen" ist bound with "RÜCK", as You described. However, when I place the cursor at a certain location and press the Delete key, nothing happens. Can you please describe to me how I should proceed.
2) I don't know how to change the shortcut. If I press "RÜCK", nothing happens.

To change the shortcut, click on "RÜCK" and then press the key that you want as the new shortcut. Click on OK and that will save as your new shortcut.

Do you have audio or video on a parallel video or audio track?

The gap won't close unless it is a true, empty gap between clips on all tracks.
