MacOS Big Sur premier elements 2023. Issue I am having is Freezing

I downloaded the Premier Elements 2023 Student Version. When I am trying to create videos and enter the edit screen to cut the video. Once I try to preview it freezes in play mode and I cannot stop it. I am hoping this is a bug that was corrected in the last update because it was happening before the update and I have not been able to test it since. When it freezes the only thing I can do is force close it. Then I have to start all over again.

I am using a Mac Book Pro 2014 (i7) running macOS Big Sur.
