In attempting to make hd dvd from mp4 file, the dvd says either not enough space or dvd not blank when I put new dvd in burner.  I can make non hd videos.  Any thoughts?

I think you have answered the question.  I made the avchd file using iso and wanted to burn it to dvd.  I do have dual layer dvds but couldn't make anything work.  Doesn't matter since I do not have a blueray player yet.  Thanks for your help.

DVDs are standard definition video. You can't put high-def video on a DVD.

Well, you can if you create an AVCHD DVD, but then it's a BluRay video on a DVD disc and you can't play it on a DVD player -- and it can only hold about 25 minutes of high-def video.

How are you creating your "HD DVD" and how long is your movie?
