Question

MP4 file does not fill TV screen

I used my Adobe Premier 14 version to put together a short video and saved it as an MP4 file. I sent the file via dropbox to a friend who complained that the video does not fill the entire screen of his large screen TV. I saved the video as 1440X1080. I recorded the original footage in 16X9 format.

Any comments about the possible problem would be appreciated.

When you have the information on how he's playing his video on his computer we'll be better able to help you.

In what way is the video not filling the screen? Does it fill horizontally but not vertically or does the entire video float in the center of the screen?

How is he playing the file on his TV? What player is he using?

Also note that for best results you should have saved the file as a 1920x1080 file rather than a 1440x1080 file -- although, depending on what player or device he's using the play the video, it may not matter since some software players compensate for the 1440x1080 aspect ratio.

Elements should not even offer 1440x1080.

    Stick to 1920x1080.
