Question

Mpeg 4 to DVD

Using Adobe Premier Elements I am trying to copy a video (Mpeg 4) from my gopro to a DVD that will play both on a computer and also a DVD player. No matter how many times I try the DVD will not play on both sometimes on the computer though. I always tick the Mpeg 4 box but I finish up with a VOB file or a VTS file. Anyone help?

You need to read https://www.amazon.com/Muvipix-com-Guide-Adobe-Premiere-Elements/dp/B08KQ9L1ZY/ and/or watch tutorials

I have about 50+ links in a file I created to help you get started http://www.pacifier.com/~jtsmith/PrE2021.txt

It might also help if you described the process you're using to convert that MP4 to DVD. Copying it to a DVD won't work. You need to transcode the file.

I'm not sure where you're finding the option to "tick the MPEG 4 box". If you're burning a DVD, your only option is to output an MPEG2/VOB.

Will MPeg 2 play both on computer and a DVD player?

A DVD is more than just a movie on a DVD disc. It needs to be properly formatted as VOB files and usually navigation in order to play on a standard DVD player.

As I've said, I think you're taking the wrong steps to create a playable DVD. But I can't say for sure because you haven't described the steps you took to create your disc.
