Mute Audio in mixer not holding after X'ing out

Hi,

I'm pretty amazed to see that comments audio mute not sticking made were made 4 years ago, as I'm still having the problem with PrE 15!

Am I missing something here? I seem to be able to keep music muted until I X out the audio mixer. Once I then click play on the timeline, the music resumes. This is really annoying as I don't want to keep hearing the same bit of music as I edit the timeline. And I don't want to remove the music as I sometimes want to listen for timing. Anyone else getting this problem?

Many thanks,

Glad you like the videos, georshaw!

I'm not sure why this is happening. You're saying that when check the Mute option on the Audio Mixer, it automatically unchecks when you returnj to the timeline? That's not something I can duplicate on my Windows 10 computer.

Meantime, try this: click on the little music note icon on the track header, to the left of the timeline. This will also mute that track. Do you get the same results?

    Thanks Steve,

Weird, when I reopened the programme (tried this already), its now staying muted. Guess it must have been a slight bug?

Thanks for the tip on clicking on the note to mute though! Will do that in future.

I'm not exactly sure what you're describing, georshaw.  But you should definitely be able to use the Audio Mixer to "ride the gain" and create audio level keyframes as you play your timeline.

    Hi Steve,

Big fan your youtube videos! I mean that when I mute the track, it only mutes for as long as I have the audio mixer tab open. When I close the mixer tab and click play on my timeline, the track unmutes (and the tickbox for mute becomes unticked). Screenshot of the tickbox attached. Is there another way to mute audio, as this doesn't seem to work?
