Narration not recording due to lack of input channels

I am using PE 2022 with Windows 10. Windows diagnostics says the microphone is working. In PE "Narration" the little gauge for the microphone is not responding. When I push 'record' I get the message "Audio recording - your current audio hardware selection does not have any input channels". Under "Preferences" it shows under "Default Input" - Micrphone (Razer seiren mini) (not working). But the microphone is listed as the default and IS 'enabled'. I have used 'Narration' successfully in the past but not tried it in the last couple of months. I switched the USB port of the microphone with no change.

I was surprised to see that I had not used PE since mid-July, when it was performing satisfactorily.
I do not know if this is significant, but when I just exported my video (without narration) to a group of which I am a member, there was no sound in my received video at all. The other recipients said the sound in their videos had come thru fine (!?).

Oooh, I feel SO stupid!  There is an inconspicuos little switch down below the desk that controls the volume of my computer and I guess I kicked it.
The problem of 'no sound in my received video' has been miraculouusly cured.

Check the privacy settings on your computer by going to system preferences > security & privacy, > microphone, and make sure Premiere Elements is checked.

Thank you so much.

I did this and there are several 'desktop apps', including PE, there and they are all 'On'.
