No sound with imported .vob files

This is with Premier elements 2019.  I have Windows 10.  I imported the .vob files from a DVD using the Add Media function in Premier Elements.

When I preview the files I see the vide but there is no sound.  This is either when I do a preview or when I play it in the timeline.

The audio 1 track in the timeline just shows a flat line.

My speakers interface to the computer via USB.

When I play the DVD via my Power DVD software the sound is fine.

I have also found that when I import these .vob files into Premier Elements 14 (my old version), that the sound is fine.

Any ideas?

Open one of the VOB files in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo set View to Text and then copy the report it generates and paste it to this forum. Once we know what the specs are of your video we'll be better able to answer your question.
